ECV – School of Visual Design in France

To succeed is to reveal ourselves together! At ECV, we are more convinced than ever that nothing great can be achieved alone. From the emergence of design thinking to the game art and animation industries, which are mobilising ever larger teams, creativity has become a collective sport.

Our trainers and teaching teams are all working towards a common goal, that of nurturing collective effectiveness in order to achieve full potential. To keep this promise, ECV offers a favourable structure and an environment conducive to openness to others. Here, the diversity of knowledge and cultures is celebrated and translated into inestimable strength.

Our Values

Teaching excellence

The ECV pays particular attention to the quality of its teaching and its teaching staff, which is made up of professionals who are recognized and distinguished in their field. Close and privileged exchanges with the agencies feed and develop the teaching content.

International

In a profession that has become borderless, training creative people who are mobile and open to the world is essential. ECV encourages its students to undertake internships abroad and to take advantage of university exchange agreements, by participating in international networks and events. The creation of programmes that respond to international issues within ECV Paris itself helps to enhance the school’s reputation and international standing.

Network and recognition

The ECV has privileged relationships with agencies and major professional organisations, which are strengthened by the presence of its graduates in many sectors throughout the world. These relationships are invaluable for the future of our students.

Professionalism

At the heart of ECV’s teaching methods is work on real case studies from partner companies. These projects, which are selected for their school-company collaboration, enable students to come face-to-face with the realities of the workplace and its demands.

English Programmes

Bachelor Graphic Design

After learning the basics in Foundation year , students in years 2 and 3 of the Design curriculum are introduced to new techniques and tools, enabling them to carry out their first projects in publishing, visual identity, advertising and digital. In the second year, students discover new subjects such as motion design, typography and page layout. These will provide the vocabulary that is essential for visual communication applications.

The 3 rd year of the bachelor’s cycle in graphic design, taught entirely in English, allows students to deepen and synthesize the skills they have acquired. The core subjects of the Bachelor’s programme are still present, but the subjects are more complex and involve a more global approach to artistic creation. Students are required to work in teams, and to present and defend their creative projects in front of juries.

International Master in Art Direction

The International Master: Graphic Design for Art Direction is a two-year course taught in English, aimed at creative profiles wishing to pursue an international career. The course enables students to explore art direction, graphic design and visual communication through the prism of foreign countries. The course meets a growing demand from professionals for employees with profiles that are open to the world, with a more cross-disciplinary approach to the design professions, capable of managing teams and responding to projects with a global vision.

The programme is based on a teaching method centred on projects organizedinto 7 6-week modules. Each module offers an in-depth analysis, from a multicultural perspective, of a geographical area, a societal theme and business expertise.
